How do radiant tube heaters work?

A radiant tube heater uses a gas burner to heat a metal tube suspended above the floor. A reflector directs the generated infrared heat downwards, warming the litter, equipment and animals below. These surfaces subsequently transfer part of the heat to the surrounding air.

Because the heat is directed towards the occupied area of the building, radiant tube heaters can provide a broad and consistent heating pattern with limited air movement.
